Amazon.com Product Description A great choice for rough-and-tumble athletes of all stripes--from surfers to mountain bikers--the Freestyle Rockaway shock-resistant digital men's watch (model 712011) features a durable plastic housing and stylish, tapered polyurethane strap in black. Nicely affordable, it's packed large with sports timing functions, including a chronograph, countdown heat timer, and 30-lap memory. The negative white-on-black display also offers time/day/date display, dual time, and an alarm. Other features include Night Vision LCD backlighting and water resistance to 100 meters--making it suitable to wear while surfing, swimming, and recreational scuba diving. About FreeStyle With the extremist in mind, FreeStyle has created an extensive collection of innovative performance watches that will go with you to the edge and back--whether you're surfing, skiing, biking, or hiking. Established in 1981, Freestyle Watches was the brainchild of a couple of Surfers whose mission was to create a watch line that could withstand the abusive conditions of their beach lifestyle. Their experience told them very few watches on the market could stand up to the daily abuse of salt water and sand. The result was The Shark Freestyle watch, a lightweight, low profile, and extremely durable timepiece that was immediately demanded by athletes all over the world.

| Customer Reviews: Great watch. The band.... not so much March 6, 2010 C. Scharff I love this watch. The reverse LCD is nice, the info is easy to read, and the thing just looks great. But the band breaks much too easily. I've had to replace mine three times. I'm not hard on it, but just putting it on and taking it off daily cracks the band adjacent to the slot I use for sizing. For 25 bucks, you can't beat it. Just buy a couple of bands to go with.
they never never sent me that product ok June 5, 2008 Carlos M. Lopez 0 out of 7 found this review helpful

Sleek and Simple February 22, 2008 M. Naylor-Faulk (Baghdad, Iraq) This purchase was made for my watch loving husband. Being one that complains over how much he spends on watches, I was pleasantly suprised that he was able to find one that was cheap and sleek at the same time. It is a good buy and it looks great!
awsome February 2, 2008 Robynne Schembri (cali) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
got this watch when i first entered the army it was the coolest looking one at the PX so i snagged it
this thing survived all the way through basic training(boot camp)
the start/lap button no longer works but i can still adjust the time
(hard jump plus smashing against an M-16 can be thanked for that)
band started ripping about 2 weeks ago so i took it down to a offical "dealer" had it back within a week
overall this watch has exceded most other watches i have had that were twice the price
Side note: still on the first battery
Quality materials, but slightly hard to read July 12, 2007 Tim (Balimore, MD) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This watch has gray display numbers on a black background (as shown in the picture), which I am not crazy about. I think black numbers on a grey background (like most digital watches) is easier to read. I think Freestyle may have designed the watch this way because it IS very easy to read in very bright sunlight. Or, maybe it is just supposed to look cool.
Otherwise, this watch is pretty nice. All of the plastics and rubbers are high quality. The crystal is very clear and looks tough and scratch-resistant. This watch does not look cheap, and in fact looks pretty high end for a sporty digital watch. The watch and band are wider than normal, without being ridiculous. The watch face is about 1 3/4" wide.
It is fairly easy and intuitive to set the watch and use the different features. The backlight is blue and works well for reading the time in the dark.
If you can live with the dark display and would like an oversized watch style, this is pretty good choice for under $50.
I have only had the watch a couple of days, so I can't comment on long term durability. However, it looks like it will hold up well.
